For all we know Yoshida could have been dead before the start of p2 and was Death's pawn all along. So his regret comes from not just being unable to live a normal life as an agent but that he's already dead and his life isn't his own.

a character from p1 who's also had more history or involvement with the central p1 cast while being a spiritual successor of sorts too following Denji into p2 through Public Safety as the connecting link which had been the force determining the central lens of much of p1 since its beginnings.

the story zooms out to show facets of csm's world and society independent of Denji outside of the curated lens presented to us in p1. And in turn that affects the familiarity readers have towards how csm develops, especially in the uncertainty and lack of assurance of catharsis post-Falling arc

The points you've laid out here resonate w me as well. I think there's something fascinating to dig into in terms of that structure and normalcy you've mentioned being introduced in p1 and then taken away in p2 from Denji as he's left to fend for himself again but in a much more isolating way and
