A Bud Light-style boycott of a Broadway musical is not going to work. The demographic going to see Six the musical is going to show up more to see Dylan Mulvaney in response to transphobic hate, not less. Signed, someone who has seen Six on Broadway twice and has never drank a Bud Light

“The truth always lies somewhere in the middle” has to be one of my least favorite phrases. Sometimes, one side is actually truthful and one side is actually malicious and lying!

Bluesky has actually been remarkably successful as an app within a relatively short time frame. Expecting it to have the same metrics as some of the biggest apps in the world is stupid. What really matters is having content that people care about, especially if it travels outside the platform itself

Just because a lot of people are cruel, bigoted, and brainwashed doesn’t mean we have to find a “middle ground” with them or a “compromise” that satisfies some of their racist delusions. We just don’t.

I wrote about this in @spitfirenews.com yesterday, but the pretense for the federal government to brutalize you—up to and including murder—is now simply that you live in a place that swung blue during the last election. Just living there means they’ll literally call you a radical rioting agitator.

I’ve seen a lot of people share the sentiment that AI getting more pervasive could be good because it will make everyone get offline. I don’t share that optimism! I have seen nothing to indicate that online spaces getting worse encourages people to leave them—in fact, I think we’ve seen the opposite

I spoke to @jjfreyd.bsky.social, who developed the concept of DARVO, about the way the Trump admin is using it to smear Renee Good, other ICE victims, and Twin Cities residents at large. I also traced how viral DARVO campaigns against abuse victims led us here.

The smearing of Minnesotans is DARVO
Renee Good and her neighbors aren't perpetrators. They're victims.

It’s unmistakable how much the way institutions treat lying federal officials is the same way they treat lying abusers and predators. Even when they contradict themselves, admit to wrongdoing, and repeatedly undermine their own credibility, institutions support their side over their victims.

and the guy he flipped off got suspended from his job!

almost like crassness is excused and even supported when it comes from the political right and ridiculed and scolded when it comes from the left!

like standards have been twinned somehow - theres two of them, like theyre doubled or something
Jacob Frey told ICE agents to get the fuck out of Minneapolis, a hugely popular viral moment, and the media has been browbeating him over it ever since. Trump flipped a guy off and told him fuck you and it’s barely acknowledged.

The people celebrating ICE enjoy watching masked men terrorize and abuse women and children. They love it! They enjoy watching the videos of the violence first, then create justifications for that violence in reverse. Their ICE support is predicated on wanting the violence to escalate and continue

BREAKING: Hundreds of sensitive U.S. records obtained by WIRED undercut the Trump administration’s claims portraying Venezuela’s Tren de Aragua as a unified terrorist force invading the country. Intelligence agencies spent much of 2025 unsure TdA even functioned as an organization on U.S. soil.

Hundreds of records obtained by WIRED show thin intelligence on the Venezuelan gang in the United States, describing fragmented, low-level crime rather than a coordinated terrorist threat.

so much to cover right now, but a thread i just want to throw out there from my reporting is that the car rental market in minneapolis is reportedly totally screwed up right now because ICE has cleared the inventory. rental companies should have to answer for supplying vehicles used in terror.

Good morning, #OnePiece & #portfolioday!

I'm Coffee, a middle-aged mom who decided to make learning to draw her midlife crisis hobby.

I chose "Penguin" from One Piece to do this. I've drawn him every day for 3 years now! I'm just doing this for fun, but I hope it makes you laugh as much as I do. 😁
