Have mostly been a bookseller so you'll see some booky stuff here. Also trained in horticulture. Now doing art among other things. UK
Finally, finally, I am getting round to reading this. Ghosts of the Farm by @nicolawriting.bsky.social (Well, y'know, a pile of good books to read is a wonderful thing and I've had a few). I am engrossed from the start. What a terrific book, what writing. This is going to be so interesting.

When you lay charcoal and pastel drawings outside to fix them and then it starts raining. The rain stops once you've rushed them inside. (Am properly fixing them now as I found the soya based fixative isn't up to the job.)

Just a little exercise concentrating on using soft and hard marks. I found it slowed me down (good!) and made me think about the emphasis more.

Just some of the beautiful Lord Derby apples, the first crop from a tree I grafted about 10 years ago. The old tree was diseased and falling over. All the fruit is clean of disease and of course delicious. #orchards 🌱

A photographic and artistic cliche I know, but who doesn't love a few autumnal coastal umbellifers ?

Currently reading this...for insight, sanity, sustenance, clarity and perspective amidst the crap going on. Truly recommended.

The final day of #DrawingAugust and I've continued with the canal side. This tree has entranced me.
It's been great to have this month as a focus for drawing of some kind. Thanks to @viviennem.bsky.social for getting us going.
