Fascism runs on vibes. It doesn't *have* to have any sort of coherent ideology as long as it gets people invested in it. To paraphrase Parenti, it's the rational use of irrationality.

It is impossible at this stage for liberalism to find a way out of fascism. Only socialism can do this.

Liberalism is a (semi-)coherent ideology that justifies the existence of private property hypocritically using idealist conceptions of human rights.

It *must* allow for and foster oppression in stark contrast to these rights for private property to continue the stream of profits.

If you won, you would have to deal with two main issues:

a) SocDem does not undo imperialism and in fact *relies* on it

b) Being useful in a bourgeois parl/leg requires the backing of a solid and organized group. Independents are easily ignored, co-opted, or removed otherwise.

Some will try and curry favour, and some will keep their heads down and hope death passes them by. But capital comes for everyone, eventually.

The only positive future settlers have is with social and decolonial revolution. Study how revolution is done, so it may be done here.

Many settlers are shocked by these events, but this comes from justifying the existence of the US (and Canada!) while they lie, maim, kill, and steal.

Now that the liberalism is sloughing off, settlers *must* understand:

This is the way the US and Canada have always been, just not to you.

The US system has been fascist for a long time, but the comforts provided to sections of the working classes and the ineptitude of most socialist organizations has ensured continued class collaboration.

But the system can't support that any longer.

Anglo-Canadians don't even have a historically-constituted common culture or territory. They are not a nation either.

Affinity for Canada can only be affinity for the colonial Canadian state and settlers must decouple their concept of self from it.

Canada is a country because it is a politically separated geographic area run by its own government.

Canada is a state because there is a complex organization controlling that geographic area.

Canada is not a nation because there is no historically-constituted common culture or territory.

I'll add that material conditions are also the limiting factor. Superstructure has independence to influence itself, but always in the end is within the margin of possibilities set by the base.

The only possibility of remaining independent of the US is by also being independent of Canada.

The only way to effectively do this is by siding first and foremost with the national liberation of Indigenous nations. A new settler state won't cut it.

Canada will follow suit, as it always does, because it too is part of that global power system with a fascist structure guiding its movements.

Liberalism is a dead-end alley providing only despair and/or collaboration.

Marxism is the scientific guide to destroying the system.
