look, I know it sounds anal, but there is an enormous underlying problem with the left lazily calling socialistic policies "socialism". Like I said, it fuels the opposition base. The scream that we are socialists and we pretty much tell them to which is counterproductive. Let's not fuel their fire.

The extreme differences between social democracy and socialism don't boil down to semantics. Socialism as a form of government has a bad name. When the left embraces social democratic policies and calls it "socialism", the right screams about how bad socialism is and mislabel us as "socialists".

It's apparent the left has lost touch with the true meaning of "anarchist" while true anarchists have not. I'm talking about those idiots who think the world should be all Mad Max style, not those who simply resist fascist policy enforced by the DOJ etc. and the right refers to as "lawless" etc.

Not worried about real estate giants, they would be excluded. More worried about the retiree who depends on that rental or two to make ends meet. There could be proper proration phasing out the unneedy such as you imply I was concerned with.

Not quite "socialism"; it's "socialistic" - more akin to social democracy than socialism in the US. It's unfortunate people mix the two political ideologies up while the US isn't cut out for socialism, it's in DIRE NEED of social democratic policies in healthcare, education, and more.

failure to finesse policies like this is where we end up being called "out of touch". I love the idea of protecting people, but there are also landlords out there who might go hungry when renters don't pay. There's nothing done to protect them. Such policies need finesse to protect small landlords.
