Right now, so many of the things we care about are at risk and life is too hard for too many. It’s time to build something better. That’s why I’m running for governor.

You already know my name, but I hope you’ll take a moment to learn a little about me.

Let’s do this together.

By focusing both at the state level and the town level, working with people across the spectrum, whether it’s developers and lenders, town planners, all of those people really need to have a lot of help, a lot of support and a lot of encouragement in order for us to build more housing here in Maine.

We’ve got to do a better job of building housing. We really have made it quite hard here.

I won't argue with that headline.

It’s true I’ve spent my life building things that solve problems in the most innovative ways. We need to do things in a fundamentally different way if we are going to tackle Maine’s biggest challenges.

Lucky to have picked a bluebird day to visit the Cranberry Isles Fishermen's Co-Op and hear from Bruce and the team there about bait prices, solar power, and having the most beautiful place to work you could imagine. Reminded me of my own summer as a sternman back in the day #BuildABetterMaine

One of my greatest mentors always reminded us that it was important to “contribute to the community woodpile.” There are plenty of ways to meet the spirit of that idea, and today we did it quite literally. Warms your muscles, warms your heart, and warms your neighbors’ homes.

If we want more renewable energy, if we want more affordable housing, we've got to figure out a way to make it easier for the people doing those things to get it in the ground and to get it operational.

—choosing compassion over conflict, common ground over division, and the belief that together, there is no challenge we cannot overcome.

—a spirit of neighbor helping neighbor, of differences set aside, of a nation bound together by shared purpose. That same spirit is what we need today. In a time of division and challenge, let us honor the memory of 9/11 not only with reflection, but by recommitting ourselves to that unity...

On this solemn anniversary of September 11th, we remember the lives lost, the families forever changed, and the first responders whose courage shone in our darkest hours. But we also remember the unity that carried us forward in the days and months that followed...

In America, we can disagree. We should disagree. But political violence threatens the very heart of our Democracy. We’ve got to stop this.

My heart goes out to the Kirk family as they face this terrible tragedy.

For over 100 years MDIBL has been contributing research that creates talent, knowledge and cures for what ails us. Thanks to Jeri for a great tour. Maine has a life sciences story to tell, and we should make sure our labs grow and thrive. #Maine #BuildABetterMaine #MEpolitics @mdibiolab.bsky.social

Great to see John Holobetz (son of my old college classmate!) pitch five scoreless at the final regular season home game for the @portlandseadogs.bsky.social yesterday afternoon. Always a little sad to see the boys of summer leave town, but as every good fan says, wait ‘til next year!

So here in Maine we're going to have to do all we can to protect and defend the incredible science that's happening here and all of the life sciences organizations that are making a difference in all of our lives. Let's get to work. #buildabettermaine #mepolitics #maine

We have incredible world-leading science happening right here in Maine although they are all under duress because of the cuts coming from President Trump and the attacks on science and research.

I spent time this week touring MDI Biological Labs and the Jackson Labs. And if you want to heal faster, or age with more grace, or keep your memory, these incredible scientists are working for you.

If we focus on housing, education, economic development, heathcare - I think we're going to find that we have a ton in common. And if we focus with some common sense on those pieces, both the challenges we have in common, but also the hopes and aspirations we share, I think we can do really well.

I've never once sat in a business meeting and said, "Okay, everyone who's a Republican sit on that side of the room. Everyone who is a Democrat sit on that side of the room. And I'm not going to listen to the people on that side of the room."

I know we can do better and I’m ready to work with all Mainers to build a better Maine.

And while we celebrate them, we have to recognize that life in Maine has become too hard for too many families.

Too many workers are paying half their income on housing, leaving almost nothing left for groceries, heat and health. Too many seniors are seeing costs rise and health care sites close.
