Around 60 years ago a number of watercourses in Hull were culverted, including this stretch of the Foredyke Stream at New Cleveland St. Now one drain is being returned to open water as part of a new flood alleviation scheme. Story soon via The Hull Story.

Not content with extending the Castle St works by a year, National Highways has withdrawn its £1m contribution towards the proposed South Blockhouse visitor attraction in Hull leaving the project in limbo. Part of national NH cutbacks, as I understand it.
