Important for fellow white people reading that "new" (🙄) mushroom research!
Oh lovely. White pol are appropriating yet ANOTHER psychedelic from its original context. And then questioning the native experts. 👀

And too many of yall are celebrating it. 🤣

This is what I mean by. BLIND spots. My gawd. 🙄

I don't have trouble saying that a human researcher who wants to do interesting work and has minimal self-respect, when left to their own devices, will not make up citations or blend citations together (or, not do this unknowingly). For mistakes made, it will likely not be from lack of checking.

Lol it’s meant to be silly it’s Dr. who! I think it coveys the wonder art elicits very well. I really disagree with the fact that the episode misrepresents what art is. But it’s ok that you hate it lol

Sorry but not liking that episode immediately invalidates any opinion you might ever have about media (/jk 😂)

It’s fine when AI-hype people make absurd claims cuz “they are obviously using a metaphor” but when critics are even even a bit far from technical terminology “they are being unfair/misunderstand/are stuck in 2011” 🙃🙃🙃

Much more controversially: I think connectionists in the 80s may have erred if you asked them: would a model trained on the intellectual history of the species be a viable model of human cognition?

It’s a great book (and I think it speaks very clearly to these issues)! Angela’s work is great overall (tho I disagree with her a lil when it comes to the usefulness of “level”, and she is a bit more negative than I am about some other things)

If your reaction is “ah! An excuse for a walk to a coffee shop on the way to work!” You a) underestimate how tricky that is to do in SLC 🙃and b) underestimate my need for sugar first thing in the morning 😂
