Aha, it looks very similar so I can see why. Pretty sure it was inspired by Mania, but only lasted four issues.

Ahh, thank you for achving it!

Yeah, it's a decent show. The biggest draw for me is the boss battle-like ship showdowns and the bits of realistic space warfare tech and theory they include.

Yeah, this is very much a timepiece, before some of the celebrated dubs were released.

They don't go into which, but I imagine they would be, yeah. xD

I see ads in late 80s and 90s magazines for VHS marketed as having 'Literal/direct translation subtitles', so yeah, the localization debate was already raging.

Those are important movies to be sure, but after reading a fair number of their reviews, it's clear the guy is veering into a toxic feeling of ownership of a particular form of media and starting to dictate what should and should not be released even in the origin point of that media.

EX can be a bit of an unpleasant read at times. One of the reviewers seems to have an old man yells at clouds mindset, even then, about anime is a pure art form and everyone should be watching Wings of Honneamise and Patlabor and how dare anything aimed at mainstream audiences get released.

Aww, that's lovely to see!

Forgot to mention Studio Nue up there as well, oops. But yeah, one of the foundation stones of collections in the late 90s and 2000s, and a rite-of-passage at my local anime club.

The precious laserdisc one of the more well-off members owned would be brought out for new members to watch.

xD I thought it might be one with the uncut option.

Yeah, I had one series on laserdisc, Escaflowne, and it took me most of a year to save up and import it bit by bit.
