There are many techniques ppl can adopt to be more mindful of what they're paying attention to. Unsurprisingly, today's platforms make it really hard to use those techniques!

Check out @anisota.net, the polar opposite of addictive doomscrolling, as an example of the social media we could all have.

a third way: social media without engagement metrics front and center — instead, they are represented by an abstracted “rarity indicator” symbol in the bottom corner of a post card

One of the best account to follow and read through the Anisota 🔍 is certainly @publicdomainrev.bsky.social

New Eclosion 🕯️

The backs of cards have been totally redesigned so you can see post engagements, the author's avatar, and advanced profile context like raw ATProto data.

Now you can see who liked, reposted, or quoted a particular post without leaving the app!

i know 😭 it will be worth it once things are finished!!

Lastly, we've unified many of the navigational controls under a single "Navigation Button" represented by a compass icon. You can tap this button to quickly flip a card over, switch feeds, go to the top of the card stack, and more!

See it for yourself: anisota.net

More to come!

Also, if you're an ATProto nerd/dev, there's now a new "Inspect Record" control button that let's you dive deeper into a record's data without ever leaving the Anisota experience! It's simple at the moment, but it will improve over time. See backlinks via @microcosm.blue!

Try it out: anisota.net

if @bsky.app introduced a "Zen Mode" — what do you think it would be? what problem would you want it to solve?

in the upcoming @anisota.net eclosion, i'm revamping the backs of the cards to look nicer and display more helpful information about posts — i.e. who engaged with the post, info about its author, etc

is there anything you'd like to see on the back of post cards? currently it's just the raw json
