Doctoral researcher at the chair of British Literature and Culture at UDE (Essen, Germany). Avid reader of fantasy, amatory fiction, world literatures. Nothing to declare except that I’m a tad snobbish about wine and food.
Jaded on the eve of May. Seems fitting.

Late to this tribute but Fugard was one of most compelling playwrights I’ve come across. His legacy like “My Children! My Africa!” and “The Road to Mecca” reflects his duty and commitment to bear witness to his time.
Today we share 2 memorial tributes to theatre icon Athol Fugard. First, Emily Mann remembers his passionate commitment to both theatre and social justice, writing: "He showed us the way to resist. Athol is telling us all: We can’t be silent."
Athol Fugard Was My Hero
