Mum, GP&medical educator, cellist/singer (classical, early music, folk), gardener. Loves nature and humans. Cat and chicken carer. Learning Irish, Welsh, and B/C accordion. Runs slowly, wild swims, cycles. Politics - look after the vulnerable.
Cambridge Comhaltas Elastic Band's first ceilidh gig (I was calling; accordion skills not ready for public performance!) I survived teaching a load of KS1 children strip the willow when half of them are still bad at lefts and rights! Note to self: learn more dances with only forwards and backwards.

I saw this somewhere else and thought you might need to see it today.

I would eat this with any cheese... I just ate quite a lot with some lovely French Caprice des Dieux.

A good graphic explaining why it's easier to book a haircut than a GP appointment. #GP #NHS

September in the garden.
The bean harvest, these ones are beautiful.
Roses giving another display, all that pruning is worth it.

These have featured already in #floweroftheday but they looked lovely in the light after the rain, and are some of my #favouritethings.

#floweroftheday a teazel! The bees have been visiting but not much today because we had torrential rain and it stopped just in time for a bit of refreshing evening gardening.

It was such a treat to hear Gigspanner Big band in our home town, playing and singing some favourites of ours, including Solvay, Hard Times come again no more, What Wondrous Love is This and many joyous tunes in between!
Thankyou @johnspiers.co.uk and everyone for a great evening.

#floweroftheday whatever this wild carrot is in the meadow seed mix I threw around. I love the little black dot in the centre of each one.

The flowers smell beautiful.

#Sundaymorning trip to Cadogan Hall in London with the Cambridge Phil....celli on the bus.
We are a bit too excited to be playing Peter Grimes with British Youth Opera today. Last night's show in Saffron Hall was fantastic and we can't wait to do it again!

The problem with having your morning coffee in the garden, is noticing the deadheading and weeding you ought to be doing. 😊

#floweroftheday there's no point photographing night scented stocks in the day, as they kind of shrivel up. The petals unfurl at the same time as the glorious smell comes out.
These ones managed not to be the slugs' dinner.

#floweroftheday is this water lily in the small pond on the roof garden of the Catholic Chaplaincy, taken after a Corpus Christi blessing.

#floweroftheday let's hear it for the humble aubergine, whose flowers are surprisingly beautiful. I have yet to get an aubergine to sprout from seed(how do you do it, people who can?)so I bought this grafted plant from Waitrose of all places and managed to keep it alive so far.

#floweroftheday needs to take off on here as well. God knows we need a few more tiny specks of joy.
Here is my first pink sweetpea of the season.
Let's spread flowers, not war.

Watering-time on the GP surgery team allotment. Nice to be here as the skylarks and swifts go to bed and then the bats come out.
Marigolds almost glow in the dark.

You need a tiny speck of joy in the midst of it all, so here is some stuff growing in my garden.
Juneberries we share with the birds.
Our first ever ripening fig.
Oxeye daisy in the wild patch.
