Last night my 1/8 Scottish husband had to microwave his haggis due to not having a kitchen at present. I need to inform him of the existence of haggis in a can.

Me too. I also want to find out how the Ice Queen finds a queen-consort and whether it is anyone we've already seen.

Goodness knows I have my issue with committees in general but how on *earth* did that get past a committee in 1989?

Threading and indeed reposting on my own account fail, in my defence the house is full of builders.

She saw him pass through the glittering throng, with the beautiful Julia, all truth, innocence and devotion, reclining upon his arm; and her passion rising to madness, she exclaimed in a hissing under tone between her teeth, "May a curse light upon him and her!"

Jane Fairfax is not a shallow flirt! She is a reserved young woman of good taste and deep feelings who is in an absolutely vile place financially and with regard to having agreed to a secret engagement to a man who may or may not ever be worthy of her!

Then again I suppose almost anyone is meek and mild if your standard is 'compared to a confused, angry pyromaniac who is currently trying to murder the husband who locked her in an attic'.

Describing her as 'meek and mild' in comparison to 'temperamental' Bertha.

I suspect it's 'arsey bloke who gets puffed up with rage every time he's told he's wrong about anything' but I also wonder if it's seller's remorse. I mean Reform keep boasting that they're no longer a one man band but it's pretty obvious they're now a one-man band with a gonk tied to the harmonica.

I wouldn't put it *past* Jenrick to randomly hate Scottish people, or indeed anyone who he suspects of being Scottish.

I saw it at... fifteen? and again a couple of years ago and there were so many things I'd missed.

I don't know what's going on there, I'll look into it, but both should be available in updated editions on Kindle and the various epub sellers. I have to admit a whole lot of life got in the way and I haven't got round to releasing the updated paperbacks.

We've got a kettle and a microwave at present, but spending two days without either when we lost power because of Storm Goretti was... suboptimal.

Builders are remodelling and putting in new units. Unfortunately there was a storm that left us without power for a few days and created a lot of urgent storm repair jobs, so things keep getting behind schedule, but at least the cats appreciate the sitting room being full of exciting boxes.

I'm reading Jean Lacey Pratt's journals, which are very much that.
