I *was* a teacher of the deaf tho, back when I was still living in the Philippines & I taught deaf students English at ELI in Gally. It was fun situating my lived experiences in Deaf Ed to both linguistics and US Deaf Ed research.

Forgot to mention that I'm doing these in the midst of unpacking. Been about a month since we've moved here. Adulting is such a pita. A privilege, yes, but undeniably a pita.

The other day after 5yo came home from a dental appt., he grabbed one of my lipsticks and clutched it tightly in his grip.

Me: Sup? Why are you taking my lipstick?
5yo: The dentist told me to put on Chapstick bec. my lips are dry! I don't have one so I'm taking yours!
