Trump's tariffs are like a restaurant with a long line jacking up menu prices. You can do that for a night or two, and probably increase profits. But very quickly, the restaurant loses customers. Same with trade cepr.net/publications...
Trump’s Tariffs and Price Gouging Restaurants
Like restaurants price gouging waiting diners, Trump’s tariffs may bring short-term wins but risks long-term damage to US trade and global trust.

This is beautiful in a world that can so often not be.
I got permission to share this, and I'm extremely grateful for that.

The Onion got this letter from one of our subscribers in Alaska. She works with dementia patients and decided to leave a copy in the car for each one.

This email made my year. Read it and you'll see what I mean. People are good.

I love this and would also love to know the original publications.

I hear people in my tiny town say this all the time, including my students who are parroting their adults.

Yessssss. Is your local school board making you furious by their complacency and inaction? Run!
Going to reiterate that everyone on this website should run for something. Tree warden, Senator, horse catcher, whatever. The Democratic Party is currently screaming at each other about precisely how much more racist and transphobic they should get. Sneak past them, primary an old guy, take control.
