Peduto announced the concept of OwnPGH in March 2021, but never funded it. As a former City Councilmember, Corey O'Connor should know that an unfunded program is not a real program.

Why back down?

“My opponent asked for the walking tour. I didn’t ask him. He asked me for the walking tour. We invited him. Now all of the sudden, he’s not coming.”
At last week's WPXI debate, @coreyoconnorpa.bsky.social asked for a walking tour of the affordable housing I've delivered as Mayor.

I took him up on it and invited him to join me tomorrow.

Tonight Corey backed out because he knows he has 0 record and 0 plans for affordable housing across our city.

Great thread here for you Pittsburgh!! 🧵♥️
In Pittsburgh, the Democratic primary is the "real" election. If you vote by mail, your ballot is coming soon! The primary is 5/20.

We're flooded with unpleasant mailers, mainly by PACs supporting Corey O'Connor. They're using racist tropes & telling weirdly easily disproved lies.

CITY FOR SALE:

25% of Corey O’Connor’s campaign funds have now been confirmed to come from developers.
This comes after a flood of donations from MAGA donors.

I’m not okay with my landlord buying the next mayor of Pittsburgh, are you?

This is horrible to post, but I may as well post it. We are essentially shutting down research operations in my group, which is focused on treatments for pediatric brain cancer. I’m a well funded investigator, and there’s no choice. Science can’t function without the stability of NIH

We need to organize--let’s help each other.

NIH is cancelling grants, but it's not clear exactly what they're cancelling and why. Without this information, we can't respond.

I've started a Google Sheet to track grant cancellations.

Please add any canceled grants you know of and spread the word!

Pitt is the 2nd highest NIH-funded institution in PA. The contributions of Pitt, economically and culturally, to Pittsburgh are innumerable. This would also harm UPMC, where a ton of us get healthcare.
