Aren’t we all just strange bleeding hearts tamping our big, sensitive FEELINGS while we filter our perception of reality through an unreliable lens or is that just me?

It’s a "crisis" when immigrants "take jobs away", but "innovation" when machines do. Funny.

A word on burnout & feeling strung out because "I can't save all the things that need saving."

Democracy is supposed to be a mosaic and a relay race. We never have to take care of the whole ourselves.

In fact if we do, it kinda stops being democracy.

I seriously wonder if Dems realize that if they ALL stopped using Tik Tok, anything Zuckerburg/Musk/Ellison, etc., that the could literally end the dominance of these MF. But I sadly suspect the won't give up their convenience for democracy.

Yes, and then I contemplate if all those death thoughts/prayers transmute into a protective energy bubble feeding their darkness because they seem to live extra long. And then look at the time and I’m late for work.

nature has evolved the world's best supercomputer running on basically no electricity, capable of processing thousands of signals every second right in our head

A Labor Day reminder: today there isn't a single city, metro area, or state in the U.S. where a full-time minimum-wage worker can afford a modest 2-bedroom apartment.

Millions of people with jobs—even multiple jobs—aren't safe from homelessness in this country.

Dear Americans, welcome to the thrilling game of ‘Did this dictator die or just disappear for a day?’ We’ve been playing it with Putin and Lukashenko for decades. Enjoy the suspense.

Yes. White people must start processing their grief!

Fortunately the conversation is happening. This episode calls out white men specifically needing to help in this moment. podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/p...

Any small act of warmth or kindness can go extra far at this moment — I cycle to myself over and over — after a bristly person over the phone has me incongruously upset in tears.

Plainly, the people mad about the work required to write well and make great art who are justifying various artificial intelligence tools as shortcuts to that creative process don't value the labor inherent to it.

I put in my own order for food, I scan and bag my own groceries, I scroll past 30 fake products on Amazon to find the one I actually searched for and when exactly is any of this doing any good for anyone who actually works for a living?
