As some people know, I am a voracious reader. Considering the state of our country, I am trying to read books that I own. I am starting with foreign authors, then American history, women authors. Where would you suggest I begin?

I was walking to the store. It's extremely hot. I saw a woman with what looked like all her possessions beside her sitting on a bench. I got her a bottle of water. I told my wife and she took more water and food. She asked for feminine products. Why should any woman have to beg for a basic need

Please read/reread The Grapes of Wrath by John Steinbeck. Yes, Steinbeck wrote it in the late 1930s. Our government is attempting to do the same in creating a permanent underclass. Putting farmers in charge of migrant farm workers is returning this nation back to indentured servitude. Wake up

The Women's Prize for Fiction and Nonfiction winners were just announced. The Story of a Heart by Dr Rachel Clarke won the Nonfiction Prize. The Safekeep won the Prize for Fiction. With all the chaos in our nation the humanity in The Story of a Heart will restore your faith in humanity.

Just saw where Trump is sending 700 Marines to Los Angeles. Start counting the days until he declares marital law and shuts the country down again. Start stocking up on food, water, and supplies

I ponder what I saw over the weekend with the ICE agents and the federalizing of the National Guard in California. Will Trump invoke the Insurrection Act and put active duty military on American streets and declare marital law? Yes, I believe that is next. Be prepared for Trump's next shutdown

Amanda Gorman's book of poetry called Call Us What We Carry was just banned in Florida. Could we all who are financially able purchase a copy of her book to support this poet?

Donald Trump owes this nation an apology. He quickly jumped to the conclusion that the New Orleans attacker was an illegal immigrant based solely on his name. He was an American citizen and a veteran. Trump wants to fuel more hatred and division. Stop believing anything this very sick man says.

The holidays are a difficult time for many. Especially if you’ve lost loved ones, have money worries, health struggles, life stress, or are spending it alone this year. Sending love to everyone who needs it. 💕

My partner and I were taking stock of our emergency supplies. We discovered that some of our bottled water is pass the expiration date. We are debating whether we need to dispose of it and replace it. Looking for options.

Just finished reading Brightly Shining by Ingvild Rishoi. It's a Norwegian Christmas story. Wonderful story. Now I need to wipe away the tears of joy

Reading Brightly Shining by Ingvild Rishoi. It's a Norwegian Christmas story. It reminds me of Small Things Like These by Claire Keegan. Both are wonderful Christmas stories.

Just finished All the Colors of the Dark by Chris Whitaker. Four and a half stars. It's not a genre that I normally read but it was very good.

There is nothing better than the quiet of a bookstore and a cup of coffee. Oh wait!! I said that too soon. Now there's a kid screaming.
