The slang-term-to-headline-usage cycle for the phrase "isn't beating the allegations" and its variants is complete, everyone can move on.

This Portland Press Herald review of a boutique listed on a NY Times “best of” list is a masterclass in polite Maine evisceration. So many levels of shade.

(For the uninitiated, “Connecticut” is shorthand for…a lot.)

I don't think people comprehend how badly Jamaica is about to be hit, Kingston in particular.

I have to say, I agree with the author's take, as far as a solution. Do not work with this firm. I mean, with numbers like these...why would you?

No, “lame duck” is very specifically not that. He can do a lot in his second term, remember.

This quote, from Bloomberg’s epic dissection of Nike’s troubles, is not something I’d ever expected to read in a tech-friendly publication. “Data-driven” is typically gospel. The article also discusses Bain’s cultural influence on the company. www.bloomberg.com/news/feature...

What is this crap AI illustration, Boston Globe? Beyond it being the usual overworked, lurid mess, did anyone bother to count the irises?

The Medium logo was done by a vendor, as far as I can tell (I am not going to name and shame them here, I'm not a jerk, and people can do their own research). Apparently this one gets re-used a lot, though.

Here's yet another version, apparently from the Bank of St. Petersburg?

There's this really cool resource called Logo Archive, that I've become familiar with via its Substack.

Today I saw, in passing, a Rei Yoshimura logo for Japan Tobacco Inc., circa 1975. And it looked familiar! Why?

Because it was used for a different platform, more recently (but flipped).

This is how advances work.

I'll screenshot the big takeaways. First up: large social media followings mean bigger advances.

Ever since I started auto-blocking screenshotted reposts from The Bad Places, I’ve started noticing which accounts I follow are mostly that. I love George Takei, but I don’t need this in my feed constantly. Bye, George.

Welcome to the best day of the year in Boston! Can’t wait to walk around a bit later to see the later runners come in, the magnolias (peaking or-near-peak today, perfectly), the daffodils in pots all around the Back Bay, & all the day drinkers enjoying their day off. Love you, Boston. Happy spring.

Interesting article in Tablet Magazine: surveys have long concluded that educated people are less anti-semitic, but it's likely that they've learned to game surveys (ie, to lie). I assume that the same applies to levels of racism and misogyny among educated people. www.tabletmag.com/sections/new...
