How do you explain jazz? 🎺🎷🎶
Wanna see something cool?

At the Grammy's in 1976, Ella Fitzgerald and Mel Torme explained what jazz is.

The result? The crowd losing its mind. 🔥

Trump is threatening to revoke Harvard’s tax exempt status because the university refused to cave to his demands.

Why is he so hell-bent on attacking universities?

Because an educated and informed citizenry has always been the biggest threat to a dictator's power.

When confronted by Trump, so many people and organizations look to polling for guidance, get paralyzed, talk in circles or just fold like a cheap suit. Disabled American Veterans, on the other hand, has taken the right approach. This is how you respond.

WaPo op-ed: Colleges and universities are among America’s most competitive international exporters. In dollar terms, last year, the United States sold more educational services to the rest of the world than it sold in natural gas and coal combined.

Visa

"Inclusion and diversity is a business imperative, from our workforce to the products we design and the businesses we serve."

In Jan., Visa shareholders voted 99-1 percent to reject an anti-DEI proposal. Costco, Apple, Deere, and Disney shareholders voted likewise.

Looking at you, too, Apple News. 👀
When hundreds of thousands of people coordinate across an entire nation to protest governmental policies, that’s not a page 18 story. That’s not a “see more in section B” situation. That’s front-page news. Period.
Print Media to Mass Protests: “Please Turn to Page 18”
Here’s how newspapers across America minimized one of the largest demonstrations since Trump’s return to power.

One man just wiped out $10 trillion in wealth, is destroying centuries-old legal protections, and seems determined to unravel humanity’s greatest public health achievement. In 3 months.

I don’t know how we get out of this. But if we do, one person can never have that kind of power again.

POWERFUL essay about the need for women to be themselves, without the obsessions over youth and beauty. More than ever, now…
"There's an undercurrent that suggests if you can’t keep up, if you can’t be beautiful, healthy or productive enough, you’re not worthy of anything. ... It encourages a culture of surveillance, where every action, every detail of your life is scrutinized." open.substack.com/pub/simbuli/...
Fascism thrives on women's self-doubt
There is an unspoken equation at play in the world right now, a silent yet powerful force shaping the choices that women make, the politics they adopt, the aesthetics they embrace.

I kinda’ wonder when citizen agriculture folks/farmers will realize that getting rid of their individual farms is the point. When you want to own everything, you have to commodify and industrialize everything. Understand: they don’t care about you, farmers. They never did. I’m truly so sorry.

100% they don’t care about controlling what fentanyl is doing to citizens, it’s just a distracting/motivating story that helps sell fear. 100% they do care about controlling TikTok, which controls users, and rare earths, which control money.
