On the way back from #ICA2025 in Denver — what a great few days of panels, people, and perspectives.
Our Chair of Journalism Studies with a Focus on Media Structures and Society at Catholic University of Eichstätt-Ingolstadt was represented with five presentations. Looking forward to ICA2026.

Thank you Edson Tandoc Jr. for a great week at the Wee Kim Wee School of Communication and Information at Nanyang Technological University Singapore!

Grateful for the time as a visiting researcher at Deakin U. Kristy Hess was a great host. I learnt a lot from her and her team, including from a project on how to sustainably support the local news ecosystem in Australia. I will continue to follow the project as a member of the int. advisory panel.

I have just finished my time as an Honorary Senior Research Fellow at the Department of Journalism, City, St George's, University of London. I'm grateful for the opportunity to present and discuss my research on PSM there, and for the ideas I'm bringing home. I look forward to future collaborations!

It appears alongside excellent contributions from Marius Dragomir, Hallvard Moe, Raluca Petre, Toni Prug, Marta Rodríguez-Castro and others.

The paper discusses the opportunities and limitations of each approach and also the prerequisites needed to fulfil these tasks, such as political independence and societal trust. (3/4)

It argues for an adapted and expanded remit for PSM to include: (1) monitoring and validating external information to counter false narratives, (2) enhancing media literacy to empower citizens, and (3) developing genuine PSM platforms to provide credible information. (2/4)

The European Journal of Communication published a special issue this week on "Information as a Public Good and Public Service Media in Europe" (PSM). I contributed an article on PSM and combating misinformation and disinformation. (1/4) doi.org/10.1177/0267...
