I think ur bringing up plagiarism here is telling. I simply do not believe that ppl would be acting like the fact that we have properly talking machines is merely a parlour trick akin to jangling keys if they didn't have other grievances.

It's actually quite miraculous that we have machines which can generate short stories out old quotes! We can acknowledge the problems with AI without turning off our sense of wonder.

Whether or not u think it would have been good as written by a person, I just can't believe that anyone wouldn't find it at least a bit wondrous coming from a computer without putting some effort into doing so.

The particular situation is this: some people claim to be zionists while condemning ethnic cleansing, including that which was part of the founding of Israel. That u have to say they're lying, and can't accept that they're simply misguided (from ur point of view), shows that u have ur own agenda.

I accept u can sometimes tell when ppl r lying. My claim is, if u say that someone's lying regardless of what they say and do, u have another agenda. If ur talking about ppl u know 0 about, that's especially obvious. Sometimes, wrt ppl claiming to be anti-ec z's, that other agenda is antisemitism.

Can totally understand having a "don't run obituaries that speak ill of the dead" policy for several reasons, but surely u should just cite that when ur asked to run one and not make judgements about a situation u know nothing about!

No one's claiming that any critique of z has to encompass all its forms, quite the opposite. What's ostensibly antisemitic (I don't necessarily agree that's always the case, tho I do think it's always wrong) is to pretend all z's subscribe to the form u impose on them, regardless of what they say.

Really don't know why ud struggle to accept the basic point in my last. We're obviously getting nowhere, so I'll just reiterate that it's totally legitimate to point out that it's possible to be a zionist who rejects ethnic cleansing and that to do so clearly isn't to preclude criticism of zionism.

How can u tell these people are lying? When they say they are anti-ethnic-cleansing, condemn Israel's actions in Gaza, advocate for the existence of a Palestinian state, and for the rights of Palestinians in Israel, etc, how are u able to detect their secret nefariousness?

I would love to reset. But from my perspective, u haven't really been engaging with the points I've been making. I've been referring to specific things which have been said in this thread, and which uve denied the occurrence of. If we can't agree on the basic facts, how can we have a discussion?

It isn't dishonest, it's the framing this person earlier in the thread demonstrates. Will suggests that some people take zionism to be something other than a fascist, ethnic-cleansing ideology, and they respond by saying that supporters of the fascism of zionism would lie.
