One, a while back I was listening to a cover of an MHA opening that I always imagined Korps scenes to because it has some vibes of self-transformation, so this is quite fitting.

I have a well-designed multitip pen that’s stable and has a tight selection of colors that let me productively color-code my notes. Everything has its use case but that likely useless mega-pen up there is a great analogy.

The fic wasn’t even an HFY-reactionary-fic, it was about an Affini disgusted with the status quo running away to a remote backwater with their human teaching them to exist/deal with a society set against you. Not exactly what I would call a bad-faith take on the setting, just wiling to question.

Granted, this is only hearsay from other folks but I’ve heard things can get MUCH more hostile than just “We dont consider your fic canon.”

Shoutout to my 3rd grade teacher turning a blind eye to my workbook being stolen and flunking me for a blank quiz. (She asked other students if they had it, ignoring giggles and shuffling under the group table so they individually could show her empty hands)

Quietly enjoying fanfiction despite talk of “cringe” showed me engaging, moving, and clever works can come from anyone. Really gave me the freedom to keep working that mental muscle, in a world valuing output more than process.
