I'm a rather fat feathery owl called Sage
I'm not at all happy in fact in a rage

May also post about Sov Cits & FotLers 😁

Pluralist and Browncoat. I also follow people I may not agree with. Deal with it!
And next week, read our exclusive report: "Himmler had something similar."

Surprised no-one has reported Melania for lying on her initial H1-B visa application 😉

It's nothing great. It cycles through the .pub files in a folder and uses the Publisher.Application COM document object to convert using .ExportAsFixedFormat() to PDF.

It's going to save me weeks. I've got 940 *.pub files to convert before October when Microsoft will stop you even opening them.

I wouldn’t say it was my favourite API, but with Microsoft’s decision to not just stop supporting Publisher but to prevent it even opening files from next October, automating converting the 1,000+ I’ve created over the last 25 years to PDFs so I can open them in Affinity is my top use.

It has all the hallmarks of a Freeman on the Land response "I do not stand under" when asked in court if they understand something.

Bezos losing international sales and trying to mitigate his culpability? 🤔

And I'm enjoying travelling on the hyperloop.

He's a snake oil salesman. Always has been. The problem is that people who buy into his crap have no off-ramp. It's tulip mania again.

Like David I had it all wrong.

When they said at the beginning that there was some "strong language" I unfairly thought it would be Alan!

Yes, I agree. Everyone knew this.

It's their burying their head in the sand when they had post-election wriggle room that's the completely dumb bit.
November 6, 2025 at 7:30 PM
They've missed the boat.

An immediate "Sorry it's worse than we thought" after the election would have seen grumbles but understanding.

To stretch it out and as a result not be able to improve things and eventually still have to do it nearer to the next election is just plain stupidity.

Have you checked with Bezos before running this? This seems to be completely against his free market editorial directive.

You're getting sacked in the morning.

It's the Boris Stratagem. Worked for him too.
