Anti-American
@anthonyjhodges.bsky.social
The American people have dishonoured themselves and dishonoured their country! I have tried to help them, but I have failed! I have failed because Americans have not helped America! You people have not given Republicans the proper motivation!
China have introduced safety requirements for door handles that can be opened in all conditions, especially when submerged in water. Buying cars without a regular handle may add to future insurance premiums.

I know it's not everyone's cup of tea, but as someone who made the long overdue switch to Linux last year, I quite like flatpak on a desktop o/s.

I wish I could recommend Linux to power users coming from Windows, but my experience with just about every application has been ordinary. Even copying files over WiFi to a NAS that doesn't support NFS v4.2 will crash after the first UDP packet loss. I am only persisting out of my hatred of sloppilot

Moved to Linux 1yr ago. My XPS15 (with dock) has Ubuntu 24.04 hoping there would be least driver issues. libmutter crashes with GPF when in standby & X11 corrupts graphics coming out of a locked desktop. Remote control via Zoom/Teams passes thru keyboard scan codes instead of key sequence I pressed.

One year in, and I can say that I don't enjoy it because many apps are not great; but I still recommend people try to switch.

Yeah, Graph is quite restrictive in the clients that can be used. My main customer only approved Evolution. I find Firefox with Container tabs is the best option for those customer, and Evolution to download into mbox/eml. format. Once EWS is dropped I'm pretty certain Owl for Firefox will break too

Have you ditched Windows and iOS too? I've been trying to find a high quality email app that will still work for those times I have customers force O365 email. Evolution is well set up for multiple mail accounts, but it's search and editor are 90's atrocious. Thunderbird is only slightly better.

Don't solar panels greatly benefit from being roughly angled towards the sun, and its efficacy be limited to either the very early or late in the day (depending on East/West facing)? It may take a long time to make your money back. I have 10kW of solar fitted to the roof, and it rarely maxes out.

Maybe this time round they will grow a spine, even if it involves a statue of limitations.

Replace the unwatchable Polymarket TYT with "I've Had it"

Signing up to the ICC is the minimum I expect.

Currently, the core cloud services are controlled within the US. Even if you want to use European cloud services, they are often dependent on key technologies that are run out of the US. I went as sovereign/non-US as I could by moving everything out of anything that had a cloud backbone. Not fun 😞

Hmm, I probably should do the same. I'll add it to my 2026 list, with GrapheneOS being high up (just waiting to see which non-Pixel vendor they are going to be working with).

January 3, 2026 at 11:31 PM
Yeah, my bias was on full display there because I read it as 5500 mas shootings events in the USA
December 15, 2025 at 8:47 AM
Ahh. Of course. My bias is showing thinking that the USA has had 5500 mass shooting incidents.
December 15, 2025 at 7:43 AM
Australia has had much less than 35 mass shootings over 10 years too. The number of falaties should be a factor
December 15, 2025 at 6:32 AM
Australia has had way less than 35 mass shootings in 10 years. Wtf are they on about?

I'm old enough to remember it was going to bring in $5 trillion. I'd be surprised if anyone did pay
