Peter Thiel agrees with you. There’s nothing special about these schools compared to state schools. It is mostly for well connected and those that can afford to give their kids prep for standardized tests.

Most athletes choose majors they can get through by barely showing up to class like comms and business, which he was a comms major. They also have handholding for student athletes to get them to pass their classes.

Athletes are often not very involved in their academics and/or choose majors that allow them to breeze by. For example, many of them choose communications. No offense to those who genuinely have an interest in comms.
