I agree with you, but never ever getting false positives is near impossible, especially with how AI works nowadays. We try our best to prioritize appeals, so labels don't appear for too long. Silver lining, I know.

I may help that most users don't use us to fully block or hide what we label:

On this account, and on my NSFW account, this is what I see. The label is just completely missing.

On my main account, this is what I see. The label is properly applied, and everything's fine.

This is a test post for the labeler. It should show the label "AI-informative" on it.

It has been generated using Google's Gemini, using the prompt "Generate an image which is a simple horizontal gradient from blue to red."

Counting the labels that are still applied shows the following. This means the team has checked, agreed with appeals a total of 2288 times, and has been removing labels accordingly. The other screenshot shows the difference, aka the number of times a label has been removed.

The team has applied 405499 labels since the existence of the labeler. Some of these labels aren't relevant anymore, as we changed some and merged some, but the current relevant count for them is the following. Note this includes labels that have been removed by the team, following an appeal.

This graph shows the amount of reports per day the team is receiving. The dates are visible on the X axis, and the Y axis indicates the number of reports that happened that day.

Note these are the number of individual reports. The same post may be reported multiple times by different people.

Heya, we're definitely listening and pinging us is one of the right method to interact with us. There's also the appeal process described in our FAQ:

I can see someone already filed an appeal for you.

There's a portion of our FAQ which is probably relevant for your case.

Hi, so these filters are still generative-AI. They use the same models, and have the same ethical concerns. This is outlined in our FAQ, but basically, there's no difference anymore between generating an image from scratch, or modifying an existing image. It didn't use to be.

In the case of your "Surfing dog", nobody drew this. No picture was ever taken of such a dog surfing. As an example, I just typed "A photo realistic picture of a Golden Retriever riding a surfboard, a big wave behind him." in a generator, and got this. Lots of things are wrong with it. 4/6

Your avatar is definitely not AI-generated, but it really looks like your current banner is, hence the label:
