I don't know if it's true or not but I heard that more US senators (or maybe it was other representatives, I don't know your country's system) have assaulted women than all trans women in the US combined (minimum of 700 thousand).

The thing is, you still had to vote for him. Because what matters most is what parties get into government - choosing the less conservative option, from the major conservative party, would help get the conservatives in government. And that would be worse than having that guy as an individual.

Obviously the other 2 who voted against were from conservative parties. This man, who also had the *extremely* unpopular opinion that we should join as a state of our larger neighbour (not the US), was one of the most conservative reps in the entire country - but not in a conservative party.

Not American, but my country has two big parties (as well as 4 relevant minor parties, we usually get a coalition of one major party and 2 minor parties). My last representative was one of 3 in the country to vote against safe spaces around abortion clinics. He was in the Democrats-equivalent party.

When I heard of Solstice's death, I couldn't stop crying for 3 days, and then intermittently for another couple weeks. But I learned what I could about her life and made my own memorial for her. I hope they know they are so loved.

Been trying to see through my tears for about 10 minutes to write this comment. I care about them all so much, it feels like losing someone close to me each time, genuinely. But I'm also so happy to see them living, happy, laying eggs, etc. too. It's worth the grieving when one dies to see that 🥹

Oh no 😭 I didn't hear about poor Tau Kuhurangi's death until now. I would love if they held a live-streamed memorial or something to celebrate and share what we know about the lives of the kākāpō who die. I mourn their deaths every time 🥲 May Tau Kuhurangi rest in peace.

Kākāpō never fail to be the cutest creatures in existence 😍 Also, I don't know which kākāpō is pictured, but they kinda look like a butternut pumpkin there haha! I want to see every kākāpō photo that exists hehehe, so excited for the rest of the breeding season, going to be so cute!!!
