My local family members don’t like traditional Thanksgiving food (which I love-how are we related???). For the past 3 years, we’ve had theme dinner- Seafood Soiree, Mexican Madness, Heaps of Hors d’oeuvres. On our own this year: game hens, rice pilaf, green beans, and creme brûlée for the win!

The most critical part of prep for dinner is complete and in the fridge. Crème brûlée was requested for dessert, and of course I obliged! For anyone interested, I use Alton Brown’s recipe. Easy and decadent- the best way to conclude our little feast!

We have to travel next week for medical testing and then again in a few weeks for surgery. Just can’t wait for this fiasco to screw this up, as it’s taken four months to get everything scheduled. 😤

This is our Bogart. She is a stereotypical tortie, which is all good. We’ve had her since she was Agatha-size. She is ten years and nine pounds of chaos. May you be as fortunate! 😻

Last spring, I realized that the stove still had protective film on the control panel. After nine years! I giddily peeled it off (one of my favorite things to do). It looks like we bought a new stove (until you look at the burners).
