I'm glad I stuck it through. After the mystery started being revealed, I could not stop contemplating the world that Cixin Liu built. I also learned a ton about the Chinese Cultural Revolution.

Update. I've completed the book! It was apparent in the first chapters that Cixin Liu was a novice author. The pacing, character development, and some of the writing was kind of a miss, but I'm glad I stuck it through.

No vibe coding for me. If I wanted to turn off my mind, I'd just watch Netflix.

AI tools are great; use them daily. But it seems important not to automate original thought. Whiteboarding your ideas before reaching for an LLM prevents atrophy & builds expertise. This might make me a 5X dev instead of a 10X or whatever, but that's ok. Velocity is no substitute for understanding.

The most effective way to learn, I've found, is to focus equally on theory and application. Do not neglect one or the other if you want to grow expertise (and avoid burnout).

My principal use of LLMs is not for automation or to outsource original thought, but as a learning tool to help me build mental models of complex ideas and systems. It complements textbooks and other resources for me, and I'm keenly aware of its limitations.

I think the best thing to do is to start small. 30min weights followed by 30min cardio, 4-5 times a week. Don't worry about the amount of weight you lift. Only concern yourself with form.

For diet, cut out all sugared drinks.

Also, try to improve sleep hygiene.

This should get you far.
