Trump has always been a do it now and ask forgiveness later kind of guy. Minus the "ask forgiveness" part. Basically just always do whatever the hell you want with zero consequences.

The article didn't address the rise of political religiosity. People who study demographics have been noting that political affiliation is defining religious observance far more than the reverse, as it used to be in the past. MAGA itself is a religion. And it's superceding traditional religions.

More power to the believers trying to reclaim their religion from the Christofascists, but for me it's too late. I've moved on from religion, in part thanks to the extreme hypocrisy of the Christofascists who have dominated the church and politics for far too long.

They are like the American MAGA farmers. Trump is actively destroying their livelihoods and they will say in interviews, "I'm very disappointed in the president." But when asked if they would vote for him again, they reply, "probably, yes." Brexiteers are of the same cloth. They can't admit fault.

The Epstein Estate was the one releasing info. The files the DOJ has are what they gathered as a part of their investigation of Trump. But considering Trump was in charge when it happened the sealed it all until now.

The party is entirely made of Trump sycophants. There may have been a time where that wasn't the case, but post 2016 the GOP has been completely taken over by MAGA. It's the party of Trump now. He owns the entire group. Any moderate are long gone. Only MAGA remains.

I've been asking that question on repeat since 2016. I personally don't understand how people could be so sucked in by an obvious con man and made to believe he's untouchable. Until his base crumbles we're stuck with it. Because Dems sure have been useless as well.

It's way worse than Watergate. It's way worse than Iran-Contra. It's worse than the lie about WMDs by the Bush admin. Everything Trump has done thus far makes every other presidential scandal in history look like child's play. The big difference is we're actually just letting him get away with it.

Actually the light bulb Mafia might be the most accurate part. The big tech companies are effectively colluding to jack up the price of AI.

They were never going to intentionally release anything with Trump in them. This is why the further this clown show continues, the more I think the DOJ should be separate and independent from the executive branch. The president should never be able to dismiss investigations or pardon his criminals.

MAGA has persecuted more Christians than any Democrat administration. Latino immigrants are majority Catholic Christians. And they are destroying rural America, which is more Christian than Urban America. Trump isn't even a Christian, he's the most heathen president in history.

I don't know if I'd fully say, "never", but my current stance is, "this won't happen for at least 100 years, if ever."
Thing is, we haven't even solved consciousness yet, how the hell are we supposed to tell if an AI is "conscious?" We blew past the Turing test so fast, we don't know next steps.

My axiom is to look at what the academics and scholars are saying about AI vs what the silicon valley tech bros are saying. Let's just say the academics are FAR less optimistic about the cognitive science of LLMs and AI. Meanwhile tech bros are appropriating "AGI" as a marketing term. Yeah no.

"But which people?" Is a far more egalitarian question than at first blush, because you can be rich an dumber than bricks. I'm sure the tech billionaires running the world would say they are the intellectual elite as well. Really most are mal adjusted forever children who inherited their money.
