When I was a kid, you could see exotic animals were the zoo, in picture books and on tv. And that’s it.
But today, within 500 yards, we drove past a herd of antelope, six zebras and a few scimitar horned oryx- not something a couple of kids raised in the ‘60s & ‘70’s in Arkansas would have expected.

So I made pumpkin butter yesterday. And then I learned you can actually make pumpkin pie using pumpkin butter for the filling. I had no idea! And now I do!
Also, I did not cook the pumpkins that grew in our trees. I just want to enjoy how perfectly pumpkin is how the tree pumpkins are.

My husband made me a lemon cake with lemon icing. It made all my stressing and worry over my ordination work for the upcoming Board of Ordained Ministry a little easier to bear. AND I finished my 4 session study on the gospel of Mark. It’s called Good Question- Got Answers?

Turned another year older yesterday, and according to the Anvil Chorus (Brick, Dutchess and Cookie Monster) no safer in the kitchen🥴 . Look if you can’t stick a metal projectile into a working blender now and again, what’s the use in having a new tub of spackle & a ceiling?

Don’t get all excited, but we got rain! You know what, why not? Do a rain dance, wear a rain bonnet, sing rain songs in the rain! Get excited over something good. It’s a lot better that the anxiety we’ve all been feeling.

Today LOOKS like a great day to pull cockleburrs and broomweed. But looks are deceiving! We have a party this afternoon, so any excuse to be lazy this morning 😁. We don’t want to be too tired to enjoy ourselves later.

Cookie is a clingy protector.
Duchess is an aloof guardian.
And Brick is an anxious sweetheart.
