Not ideal my son now going to primary school in Oadby. It's a trek from Coalville. Today I parked 'my' side of Leicester and cycled the rest of the way on the excellent @rideleicester.bsky.social infra. You just need to sort out the A6 now! (You can plug your consultation in the replies)

The evidence in favour of 20 mph speed limits is overwhelming, cheaper insurance, less emissions, less car crashes, it saves the NHS, Police and councils money. But Gary from Port Talbot's commute now takes 42 minutes instead of 40 so it simply must go.

Good deed of the day done! A parent was taking her kids to school, her eldest son was getting a croggy on the mum's bike and her youngest child was on her own bike. But she had stopped. Mum was about 25 metres up the road trying to call her daughter. Child refusing to ride. I stopped, gave encouragement to the child, and then we had a race to the mum! Girl was laughing as she was racing. Fixed her brake levers and then cycled alongside giving encouragement. Child gets to school. I don't care I was a bit later to work, this was worth it.

Oh, the rapture has passed me by. My world has already ended as my son's mum moved his primary school to the other side of the county without my consent or knowledge. She told me a week before he was due to start.

There's school admin for those tasks and a school messaging tool to utilise.
Teachers don't give out their phone numbers to parents and don't use their actual names on social media. Even in the UK.
