Like with how Sorawo used the lens and frameworks of ghost stories and fear to view and understand herself and her feelings for Toriko, the next arc will be about Sorawo using the lens and frameworks of romance as a way to view and understand society
When they were taking a break during construction of the stairs, Sorawo was musing about how she herself was compelled to use the phrase "we're going out" even though she didn't want to view things through romance, and how everyone automatically applies that lens to her and even when she refutes it they just think she's stupid and young (and it felt like Miyazawa talking directly to the reader, because, yeah, that was me previously too, guilty as accused). So she comes to the realization that romance is a big inescapable force, like a gravity well that traps people into the concept, and people in it are unaware of it and don't think much about it just like how we don't think much about gravity keeping us on the ground. And that was how it really clicked to me that what she's really against is the idea of society having expectations and frameworks, and that living in a society inherently means being subjected to those frameworks by others to some degree. And she didn't realize it yet but there are many other frameworks like that everywhere in society. So this arc is about whether Sorawo can learn to like living in society, with her people, in spite of how those frameworks are inescapable, or if she'll decide that she can't stand them at all and become a permanent resident of the Otherside

With being trans and not realizing, a lot of people put up a fake mask of themselves as their assigned gender, out of fear / trauma ingrained response (can also be from trauma like parents being overly critical etc, not gender specific) So what happens is, stimuli, thoughts, feelings, they get redirected to that mask, and don't actually *reach the core of you inside*, or becomes incredibly muted when it does from all the layers This causes apathy, thinking it's okay to be assigned gender, thinking you don't care that much about being trans. Emotions aren't as vivid. You don't feel attraction to others because you're not presenting yourself truly. You don't feel sexual desire in yourself because you're not *being* yourself, this isn't you, it's a mask. That's why a lot of people don't realize for so long, because feelings get muted so much. It takes time to accept it and try it out, takes time to rewire so that you're directing things towards your core self instead of your mask. Then when the "good girl / good boy" hits your core unfiltered for the first time, that's when euphoria comes out. And after connecting with your core self, that's when it's harder to ignore, but also when you feel so much more vividly and alive, you realize you can be attracted to others and enjoy reading about character relationships more, and your previously non-existent sex drive pops itself up a bit

Spoke about some #trans coming out stuff in a server and figured I'll put it here too in case it helps anyone 🏳️‍⚧️
You (anyone reading this) can take it or not take it however you want, I'm just talking about my own past and experiences. Also CW internalized transphobia So I neglected fashion and skincare and a lot of stuff a lot, because I was like "I'm not a girl anyways I'll never have to worry about this" and also thinking that I can't be a girl because I'll look disgusting and shitty. Which I regret later on in life with how my skin is a mess etc. As you all know I still have no confidence in myself. But there isn't really a "keeping the status quo" for me, because I can't push it down and pretend to be a guy, I can't be "normal". It's like Sorawo and Toriko's 4th kind parts marking them permanently as being different and incongruent with the surface world. I only had a lot of pain inside, from dysphoria but also from living a lie, presenting a lie, showing a false version of myself that I hate to the world. So even if I can't get the ideal body, eventually staying still wasn't a choice anymore, and I had to be open about it. Because otherwise I would horribly explode from the pain and pressure. And even without having an ideal body, being able to present a real person instead of a false image is very liberating and freeing. And that's been the case for many others too. And even if you can't fulfill all your desires IRL, or you're in a position where you can't come out at work/home/etc, coming out online and taking on the right gender identity, even through discord/Twitter avatars and names and online socialization can bring a lot of joy and liberation. Basically TLDR 1) consider if you'll be able to keep pushing it down forever or not and if it's better to release it sooner than later so you don't hurt yourself as much And 2) even if you don't do anything IRL you should take the identity you want online and see how it feels for all your friends to treat you like a girl and call you by your genuine name
