I also think that the render deducts points from mega Dragonite because they look a lot better in-game.

The design feels more cohesive and intentional to me and doesn’t have any aspects i super don’t like. I just think the design is a lot more boring than it could have been
I’ll give Dragonite a little bit of slack due to some of the disappointment coming from high expectations

For some reason i had a feeling you’d say that. Crazy prediction aside… that’s fair and i agree—or more i think i get what they went for but wish the spikes were more jagged (however that may go against the Pokémon design philosophy)
However personally i like mega T-tar more than Dragonite
