A true injustice. I’m so sorry 💔

I read the RBL review of _Judeophobia and the NT_ about 3 times to make sure I didn’t overlook an incisive critique of something we got wrong. But each time, all I found was a kind, complimentary reflection 🥹 Deepest thanks to Paula Fredriksen for this review—and to the many contributors! ❤️

Psssst! Just dropping by with a periodic reminder that if you’ve written anything about Jesus (including historical, metacritical, and reception-focused work), we’d love for you to submit it to JSHJ!

It’s almost like people can literally write anything they want to about anyone!

Luckily, we’ve actually read the book!

Italy CFP! The unit that I co-chair invites you to think about how biblical resources both contain and also have been used for (i.e., reception history) various forms of social and political conflict. In other words, the options are...wide-ranging, to say the least!

Well, you certainly don’t have to appreciate it!

If anyone needs a short, accessible “why the Jesus movement is apocalyptic” piece for an undergrad class, look no further (I mean, it’s focused on Q, but you can bracket that part if you’re not into it 😆):

Even accepting the premise that AI produces useful writing (which no one should), using AI in education is like using a forklift at the gym. The weights do not actually need to be moved from place to place. That is not the work. The work is what happens within you.

Behold, the most collaborative writing of all time! We literally sat around my coffee table and went sentence-by-sentence to write this 🥳

“Wars and rumors of war”…? No wait, that’s something else 😂

The issue includes articles on the historicity of the Salome story, the debate over the criteria of authenticity, and an assessment of psychological theories of resurrection visions—plus a pedagogy reflection 👏🏼👏🏼

I’m traveling so haven’t seen my author copy yet, but it looks beautiful from afar! 😍 So happy to see this project come to fruition!

Oh, just reading about how this college president uses AI in academic leadership and wondering why, exactly, they need such salaries?

Inside Higher Ed article:
Al also helped me manage my team. During a challenging period involving conflicting viewpoints among senior administrators, I fed anonymized email threads into an Al tool that summarized key positions and highlighted shared values we could build upon. This helped to provide clarity by distilling complex arguments into actionable insights. We were able to move forward with solutions that felt fair and aligned with our institutional mission.
Encouraged, I expanded my use of Al into speechwriting. For convocation, l uploaded historical documents about our institution's 125-year history and outlined key themes I wanted to address. The Al suggested connections between past milestones and current challenges and helped me refine a narrative that celebrated resilience while inspiring hope for the future.
