That's not true though. LLMs (and machine learning systems in general) are explicitly not if/thens, they are grown through iterative training rather than being designed by hand, and nobody knows how the trillions of numbers inside the parameters leads to their behaviour.

and homogametic females (XX). Obviously this describes only the most common chromosomal configurations and isn't an absolute rule (eg SRY translocation producing XX individuals with a typically male phenotype), but the reason for the different letters is to show the difference in heterogameticity.

I mean the letters X, Y, W, and Z don't really have an inherent meaning, they're just arbitrary labels. The main reason we use different letters for birds is because typically birds have heterogametic (ZW) females and homogametic (WW) males, whereas in mammals typical males are heterogametic (XY) an
