You are right - in Lore they exist now for like 2 years. I was talking in general term when it came up the first time ^^
Some fans just don’t know how much hard cut Lore retcon GW did from their early days to now. One thing I wish tho is that they would give the Sister of Silence more focus ^^

The main reason people are upset about this is how GW went about it.

Years of established Lore got changed by a foot note on a community article. If they had brought up the retcon in the new Codex then there would have been less uproar about it. A small minority would have still hate it xD
