One of my favorite quotes...

I'll post links when I got them and I hope you'll take a look. Both stories still feel deeply relevant: the roles we play, versus the ones we want; the objectification of both women and violence; women coming into and taking back their power.

Creatives contain multitudes. Keep making art.

"Mother, Darling" got me into @viableparadise.bsky.social. I wrote "Bootcut" soon after. VP showed me there were readers out there for *this* Peter Pan retelling told through the lens of motherhood AND for a darkly funny, violent 2nd POV story about possessed pants. And that I *could* write both.

I wrote about murder jeans because thrifting has always felt unsettling to me, the idea that you're wearing someone else's clothes. You don't know what was done in them, or to them. Or, in this case, what they could do to you. Also: how women are objectified + clothes as invitation and armor.👖🔪

With Wendy, it always bothered me that she was only invited to Neverland to serve as a mother for a child who *hates* mothers. What would it be like to return *as* a mother herself, between the wars, struggling with her own feelings about mothering, conformity, the care and keeping of men? 🧚🏝️🌌⚔️
