i like to believe im a game dev

proof(?): https://applejacks.itch.io/
results are in, and im really happy with the results given that i had to pivot from my original idea last minute! rank 37 in creativity is insane given the amount cool entries i played this year! just happy that i decided to push through with submitting, and appreciate all those that played it!

made a little game for #gmtkjam where you endlessly plant crops in a perpetually moving world! had to scale it down significantly last minute (was supposed to be a roguelike xd), though still happy to submit something in the end!

favorite QOL addition was making a resizable text edit for string property fields. the way export_multiline works is great, though for this plugin i thought it'd be nice to be able to control how much space the text field takes, giving control to how much info is visible in a given node.

one week in, managed to implement most of the primitive types that godot has to offer as editable fields in my inspector graph plugin!

went ahead and recreated most of the fields myself, though still need to figure out how i want to go about handling array and dictionary types here 🤔

started relearning godot again recently! love custom resources, though ive been having a hard time managing nested resources in the inspector.

currently making a wip personal plugin that can view/edit resources using a node graph (kinda like ue blueprint). hoping this helps speed up my workflow...

16. Tiles of Life (2022)

an image recreation game where each color has a different effect on the board.

made in #unity for a 2-day game jam. was my first go at creating a puzzle game! though apparently it's not colorblind friendly (whoops 😅)

15. Fish Ya Later (2022)

an arcade game where you're a fish avoiding to get hooked!

made in #unity for a mobile game dev workshop i hosted for our university's game dev org (only did the coding). pretty simple idea, but surprisingly addicting!

13. Swipe Down (2022)

a "clicker" tower-defense game set in a toilet-based world!

made in #unity for a project management class (worked as a programmer). wanted to make a game with an uncommon blend of genres, but heavily over-scoped the idea 😅

11. A TYPECAL ADVENTURE (2021)

a deck-builder where you type your cards to play them

made for a 2-day game jam. was pretty rushed, so it's more of a prototype than anything, but i still think the game idea is neat!

10. Blackjack (2021)

a simple blackjack implementation made in c++!

was made for a networking class, but honestly what we learned long left my brain already xd. i only remember this was a client-server implementation using udp sockets. nonetheless, this was cool to look back on!

7. OpenGL Playground (2020)

not a game, but was an output made for my graphics class. i speedran this in a few days using learnopengl.com (was a lifesaver 🙏). looking back at stuff like this makes me want to dive deeper into graphics, but i know i'll have to invest a lot of time into it 😅.

6. SynthRails (2020)

a simple arcade shooter

this was made in #unity for a mobile development class. gonna be honest, this game is pretty jank xd, but i learned a lot about touch gestures and hooking up external services in unity!

4. Game of the Generals (2019)

a classic filipino board game made in unity.

this was a pair project made for our game ai class! had to learn a lot of new concepts to make the ai even a bit competitive, but it was a fun challenge nonetheless!

3. Kitty Holmes (2019)

a game about a stray finding a home for their kittens to take shelter in (i think?)

2. Securing P.U.P (2019)

a tower-defense where you fight viruses by building tower schematics using predefined nodes.

around 2nd year of university (lost most of my 1st year stuff 💀), we dived further into OOP through SFML. this was a pair project and the first of many over-scoped ideas i had 😅.

1. Clockout (2018)

a top-down shooter where time is also your health and ammo.

first thing they asked us to do in our university's game development program was to make a game in scratch. pretty janky, but was fun to work on!
