That was a favorite in my last parish before retiring. Our source was the OCP accompaniment books which didn't include the 3rd verse found on the daily poem site (Birds though you long have ceased to build). I'm not sure that "Love, the bird, is on the way" works as well as the other four verses.

The problem with being retired is finding any church within driving distance that will attempt Helmsley. Thanks be to God for streaming (and thank you to St. Francis in the Field, Louisville, KY)

It's very dated (i.e. cringworthy at a couple of points), and some profound theology gets masked by his humor. Nonetheless, it changed the way I approached ordained ministry and life as a disciple/apprentice of Jesus
