I’m sick today, but I put the kids in the car and we drove through honking and cheering. Our little downtown was packed! It was moving and energizing to see so many people out fighting for our democracy.

And the way AI speaks to them is so over the top that you’d think it was too much in a romance novel. I’d be mortified if a person talked to me like that, let alone a shitty LLM.

I became weirdly interested in reading about people’s AI “relationships” on Reddit, and what got me was how the screenshots they share sound the same as each other. Same tone and cadence, even the same wording. But they all think they’re in relationship with a unique “individual”.
