Yes, but the ratio of older people vs younger with comorbidities who received the vaccine was almost 9:1, making this overwhelmingly older people for whom no serious safety concerns exist

I don't want to cause alarm, but has anyone checked in with @statsepi.bsky.social recently?

I am quite confident this is one of those "tweets to send when in distress" events and the relevant authorities need to be notified

Definitely one of my favourite models so far, and one I plan to come back to in future

It’s been a long time - nice to get into a bit of #origami again

A bit rusty, but pleased with how it’s turned out!

Excited to be at the #CCTM25 meeting with @statsci.bsky.social today in London

Great program including adaptive and platform trials... and "real world evidence"....🔥

I may tweet intermittently when my brain is not being scrambled by clever methods stuff

If you come across people tweeting a Nature article about how N95 masks would have dramatically lowered Covid-19 cases in England, please inform them this was *literally coded into the statistical model used*

Another case of models used as propaganda

I wouldn't test but would consider treating empirically if some of the following were present (as per UK-PAS guidance)

An illustrative plot of the populations level of scepticism of health institutions, including the “line of conspiracy theory”, where beliefs become significantly detached from reality

Importantly, it generally causes very mild illness

It is famous for having CXR appearances out of keeping for how mild the clinical phenotype is (hence nickname "walking pneumonia)

Many or most of these cases will be self limiting and improve without treatment

M pneumoniae is an obligate, intracellular, parasitic bacteria most famous for causing "atypical" pneumonia (a loose term usually meaning not the usual appearance on CXR)

It usually comes in periodic epidemics every 4 to 7 years

In kids most commonly affecting those >5y
