📌 For my reliable amusement during the holiday season. Mind you, I mostly cannot eat much of these items, but I will always have room for the sweet potatoes.

Clearing space for #BlackWomen today, I’m reminded of the strength I found in Quirky Black Girls. We need that spirit now more than ever. Check out this interview with Moya Bailey & L’erin Asantewaa of SisterFire on holding space for counternarratives.

It took me almost 4 seasons of Young Sheldon to realize that the show was about Big Bang Theory’s Sheldon Cooper. I should be ashamed, except I do not regularly watch TV, and most of what I know from BBT is from memes and videos. I also recall when he started dating. Now I am intrigued.

One thing that keeps me up at night is how we get told to put our presentation skills “on the back burner”

…that they’re “soft skills”

…that pubs are more important

…to spend as little time on them as possible

What a wasted opportunity 😭 #AcademicSky

Lots of things to say about Black Voters on the economic ideologies that churn their votes.

@aasewell.bsky.social
Moreover, evidence suggests Sander’s colorblind economics also turned off Black voters.

With Black turnout in 2016 ending up significantly lower than 2012 (2020 too), any campaign moving further away from race to economics would depress Black turnout even more.

I now hold the title of "Winship Distinguished Research Professor". Coming out of the throes of burnout and misfortune, this recognition is blinding, like a bear walking out of his cave after winter's hibernation! Arms waving, unsure of his footing, hungry, thirsty, he lets out a roar!!
