The trip has sadly come to an end. Dordrecht was a cute little town, but they don’t do Christmas markets. I was able to find a cute ornament though at their souvenir shop. I am excited to get back to my pups and gear up for Christmas at home.

Next time, I would try to visit Cologne any day but Sunday. Everything was packed from the markets to the streets. Eric got his Kolsch and I spoke to a German ceramics maker before buying a beautiful tree. Hoping is makes it home in one piece.

Koblenz didn’t have a massive Christmas market, but touring the Marksburg castle, untouched and unconquered since its construction, was pretty cool. We also got to see a ton of castles along the Rhine River as we cruised today.

Mannheim wasn’t very exciting, but Rüdesheim did NOT disappoint. It was our favorite Christmas Market so far where everything was nestled about the streets of town. It felt like it was an integral part and not just plopped into the center of a city.

Strasbourg was beyond beautiful! I wish cities in America decorated as much as they do here.

Walked around the village of Breisach where we found an amazing Italian restaurant. Then we bussed into Freiburg to see the Christmas Markets and Cathedral. Next stop is Strasbourg France.

What a wild trip. 3 flights to get here and something went wrong with each one, but we still made it in time to briefly visit the Basel Christmas Market before setting sail!

So sad this trip is over. Now we just got to make a mad dash to the airport for our flight that leaves at 10:22am.

It rained the whole time, and I was soaked and cold, but at least I saw bald eagles, star fish and seals! I couldn’t take photos since I was sealed into my canoe. Only one more stop to go. I can’t believe how fast this trip went.

We got soo lucky that the boat turned to the port side so we got a straight on view from our balcony. Closest the boat has been able to get to Dawes glacier in years. And we saw it calve right before our eyes, sounded like a thunderstorm!
