Nescio Quid: Quick Discourse And Empathy
If you were to sum up almost every major event within the past couple of months — if you were able to catch up with anything — in one word, my candidate would be chaos. Now, I don’t mean chao…

The Curious Case of the Reading Philosopher
How can we possibly imagine a world without books? Well, there would be one glaring consequence of that: you wouldn't be able to read what I'm writing (or really typing — which proves my point!) because if we live in a world without any physical media for written thoughts the internet would have never even crossed our minds. Reading, I think, is not only good for building a better self-knowledge and increase our critical thinking skills, but it also forces us to clear out the clutter of our minds to focus on plot, grammar, patterns, themes, etc., etc., etc.

RIP to one of my favorite artists, Robert Wilson, whom I just learned passed away earlier today. His stagework from Einstein on the Beach, Adam's Passion, and The Black Rider has deeply inspired how I process and appreciate things, and there is truly no other person close to what he accomplished.

An excellent article by VAN's Zack Ferriday about a couple of eccentric penchants some composers had. Definitely want to try out Dvořák's train-spotting.

Welcome to the public domain, THEY GO BOOM! (1929). Laurel & Hardy battle a bad cold, a leaky air mattress & total chaos in a tiny boarding house room. It's slapstick gold. 🎞️🤧💥

I distinctly remember hearing about this a couple years ago, and really got me interested in bird-safe architecture. A very intriguing article and an important moment in bird migration awareness.

The Roman Catholic Church on Saturday laid to rest Pope Francis, whose simple style, pastoral vision and outsized footprint on the world stage both reinvigorated and divided the institution that he led for a dozen years.

The funeral drew world leaders, including President Trump and President Volodymyr Zelensky of Ukraine, who had a talk in the Basilica.

Academia isn’t perfect, but it offers a rare space to pursue knowledge for its own sake. If research were fully privatized, only profit-driven questions would get asked. Yet many of the most transformative discoveries began as curiosity-driven inquiries whose value wasn’t clear for years.
