TSM has no more wafers through mid 2027.
February 4, 2026 at 9:35 PM
Depends if you are buying new or used. But for 2nm you need 2 pieces of equipment that are the bottle neck, EUV from ASML and CoWoS machines for back end finishing. Those aren't going to be easy to come by.
February 3, 2026 at 12:42 AM
It takes 18 months for a shell, another 6-9 months to install the equipment and then since you are probably talking 2-3nm then another 4-6 months before you even get the first wafer. Thats with probably pretty low yields.
February 2, 2026 at 11:31 PM
It takes about 3 years to build a fab.
February 2, 2026 at 10:24 PM
I said this elsewhere...nope. TSM is sold out at 2nm through 2027. There is no additional capacity for anyone. Also the latency is in memory, but you can't get more of that either as capacity is sold out through 2027. On top of that NVDA doesnt sell chips anymore. They sell entire racks.
February 2, 2026 at 9:37 PM
Also...nobody buys chips anymore. You basically buy the whole rack. I think there is too much misinformation out there on AI build outs.
February 2, 2026 at 9:34 PM
Also the bottle neck is in the speed of Memory, which also has no additional capacity.
February 2, 2026 at 9:25 PM
This will get so much press and is complete dumb. TSM sold out at 2nm through 2027. There is no where else to go.

I always thought the bathroom scene in Runaway Jury was under appreciated...but it pins Hackman and Hoffman who are both at their best.

You're Bloomberg. Do a number on ICE sales in the US. Pre-covid 2019 15 million ICE vehicles sold. 2025 13 million ICe vehicles sold. 2019 325k EVs sold, 2025 1.5 million.

S&P 500 was up 16%. Seems kind of cherry picking here.

A massive majority of these projects were in Republican districts.

The IRA passed by the Democrats helped make solar and battery storage the cheapest form of energy to build out in human history. Those additions are evident as even on a mostly cloudy day 16% of energy coming from solar while 31% from Wind and solar. 17GW of storage in reserve as well.
January 25, 2026 at 7:30 PM
Actually they have. Texas has added 30GW of solar, 17GW of battery storage and 5GW of wind to the grid since 2021. Since Friday the grid has been operating with 15-16GW of excess capacity at any given time. The 17GW of battery storage have been held in reserve and not been needed.
January 25, 2026 at 12:13 PM
There are days this month where the Texas grid was 80% wind, solar and Nuclear.
January 25, 2026 at 12:11 PM
The state has added 30GW of solar, 17GW of Battery Storage (most in US) and 5GW of wind since 2021. The IRA passed by the Democrats made solar+Battery storage the cheapest energy resorce to build out in human history. Even in 2025 solar prices came down 20%.
January 25, 2026 at 12:09 PM
*30GW of Solar have been added to the grid.
January 25, 2026 at 12:07 PM
Wind has been steady 15-20% of the grid in Texas since Friday and even Solar was 10% yesterday. The 17GW of battery storage has been held in reserve and has not been needed. The grid has been producing 15-16GW of excess capacity since Friday.
January 25, 2026 at 12:06 PM
Actually the IRA passed by the Democrats has helped massively change Texas grid. Since 2021 17GW of Battery Sotrage and 3GW of Solar and 5GW of wind have been added to the grid. Because of the IRA Solar+Battery Sotrage is the cheapest to build in history.
January 25, 2026 at 11:51 AM
Important to note that in Texas its not from any grid failure. The grid has been operating with 15-16GW of reserves for the past 2 days. Wind and even Solar have been adding to the grid Friday-Sunday morning and the 17GW of battery storage has been held in reserve and has not been needed.
