Meet Meeting John Clare at High Beach by Michael Shann Poems from Epping Forest Michael Shann lives close to Epping Forest and walks, runs and cycles there regularly. Epping Forest is ancient woodland, and has a history to match. Meeting John Clare at High Beach combines ecopoetry about trees, mushrooms and lakes with poems that (literally) address the people who have inhabited or travelled through the forest, from Queen Elizabeth I and Dick Turpin, poets John Clare and Edward Thomas, to writers Mary Wollstonecraft and William Morris, and film director Alfred Hitchcock.

Crowdfunding is something we rather hate to have to do, but it does at least provide an opportunity to have a bit of creative play in the process. Following the success of Joy//Us, we are preparing another queer poetry anthology. Up//Roar: Poems of Queer Resistance. Jeremy Dixon and Cherry Potts are editing again, and we feel that the world has taken a dramatic turn for the worse, hence the queer resistance theme. That can be whatever it means to you (apart from violence and hate - we don't do that, it doesn't help), and we are DEFINITELY still up for joyful poems.
