I remember when there was a discussion on Twitter about Shein's manufacturing practices and some apologists invented all sorts of fantastical machinery and technology to avoid facing the more horrifying truth. Reminds me of this comedian's joke.

Phone was in sleep mode and went to VM (he left his own cell so I could call back, another odd misjudgment). So at least he didn't get to talk to panicked 3am me.
But...every step on the decision tree says "send a fucking email" in this case. There's no version where him calling has a good outcome.
