will almost definitely have spots where your interest ebbs or you feel lost or every word seems just horrendous. I certainly do, even with fanfic 😅😅 And the first draft is usually much much worse than the final anyway! Nobody will see that first draft but you, so you can have it be a mess and that's

authors, a lot of them go through the same exact thing!! And I hate to fall back on the old adages, but "perfect is the enemy of done" is a real thing. You are likely never going to write a story where the whole thing just flows out of you like a waterfall and is exactly what you want right away- it

I only write fanfic, so take my words with a grain of salt in that respect, but one of the key things about writing is that there are always going to be places where you think it's shitty and awful and you feel stuck and hate it, and then you have to keep on going anyway. If you look at published
